GIUSEPPE AND GABRIELLA DI LEGAMI

Athering the rich family inheritance, and the love for the land and the wine handed down from previous generations, Giuseppe and Gabriella continue the work put in place by their grandparents, conveying to the new generations the values of the past, with a modern imprint aimed at new technologies and an environmental sustainability.

Their efforts, devoted to sustainable, quality production, met the intentions of a visionary winemaker, a lover of the land and a native of another Mediterranean island, Sardinia.

Its vocation is to recognize and indulge the characteristics of both native and international grape varieties, enhancing the qualities of the grapes and territories.

THE OENOLOGIST

SEBASTIANO POLINAS

Born in Bonnanaro, in the province of Sassari, thanks to the activity of his winemaker father and his family business, he grew up deeply immersed the wine world.

The love for the land and for wine, grown over the years, pushed him to deepen his oenological studies, finally graduating in viticulture and oenology from the University of Turin.

His first noteworthy work experiences took place in Alba, at Tenuta Carretta, and in Barolo, at Giacomo Borgongno’s company, where he found his consecration as an oenologist and production manager. In 2005 he moved to Sicily and began working to valorize its native vines. In 2011 he’s been awarded the Grand Gold Medal at the World Competition in Brussels, for a white wine produced under his oenological management.

His work for our winery began in 2007, when, following his marriage to Gabriella, he began a restoration of the winery’s philosophy: a new vision, oriented towards the enhancement of the territory, where, thanks to the aid of new technologies and eco-sustainable cultivation practices, wine production is devoted to the quality of the grapes and the exaltation of varietal qualities, with special attention to native grape varieties such as perricone, nero d’avola, inzolia and grillo.

The latest wine created for our company is the classic method, obtained from 100% grillo grapes. It fully conveys the oenological vision of our oenologist, the characteristics of the territory and our company’s values.
